Durston’s 14k Gold Plating Solution offers a safer alternative to traditional cyanide-based products, delivering reliable, high-quality results in a professional setting. This 500ml solution is formulated to provide a warm 14k gold tone with excellent adhesion and long-lasting colour stability.
Unlike older formulas, the cyanide-free composition helps reduce environmental impact and improves corrosion resistance, especially on silver and brass. It slows down oxidisation and retains its colour even after extended use, with no change in finish over time.
To achieve the correct 14k tone, the solution must be heated during the plating process. It’s well-suited to small-scale plating or repair jobs, offering consistent results batch after batch. With unlimited shelf life when stored correctly, this is a practical and reliable addition to any professional plating setup.

In the 1 litre solution there is 0.8 grams of gold.
In the 500ml solution there is 0.2 grams of gold.
The Durston Pen Plater will work perfectly with TWL solutions, also many other plating machines giving 12volts will work.
No it is only used for either “bath” or “barrel” plating. We don’t have a product for “brush” plating. Because brush plating is found in the industrial sector, we haven’t jumped in yet..
